Psychonauts 2 rumor

Psychonauts was one of THOSE games.  The ones that are brilliant, but get very few sales. 

People have wanted a Psychonauts sequel for a while.  There was a problem though...

The budget. To make Psychonauts, they needed a larger budget.  A budget they couldn't really muster by themselves. In a recent interview with DigitalSpy, Tim Schafer (the main man behind Psychonauts) said "So it is hard because fans often don't know how the business works, with the difference between a developer and a publisher, it's hard to explain that. "I'd love to do that game, but I'd have to convince someone to just give me a few million dollars, that's all."

Now, this is where Notch comes.  You see, he made this game called Minecraft

And in the process of making a game that revolves entirely on building things and surviving attacks, he proceeded to make a lot of money.  When he read that interview, he tweeted at Tim Schafer Okay, let's make Psychonauts 2 happen

So what happens now?

Actually, nothing.  The two are just discussing it right now.  Don't expect anything at all right now, but the fact that this is even on the table is nice.  In the meantime, go buy both!  Minecraft is very cheap and Psychonauts is on both Steam and GOG.com.
